Baidoa (SD) – Reports from Baidoa town indicate that a powerful blast that resulted in death and destruction took place in the Southwestern state regional capital this afternoon.

A bomb blast at a traditional music venue in the northern town of Baidoa, Three people, including two children, were killed and more than 20 others were injured.

It is not yet clear what caused the explosion, but a Southwestern state official told local media that it was thought to have been caused by a landmine.

Southwestern state security authorities are at the scene, investigating the explosion.
