Mogadishu December 28, 2022 (SD) – The President of Somalia Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and today welcomed his Djiboutian counterpart Ismail Omar Guelleh in Mogadishu.

The two presidents held discussions on the relationship between Somalia and Djibouti, and how to further develop it.

President Hassan Sheikh thanked President Ismail Omar Guelleh and the people of Djibouti for standing by Somalia in their time of need.

President Ismail Omar Guelleh thanked the President and praised the success of the Somali government in the fight against Al Shabaab.

The two leaders did not further explain president Guelleh’s sudden trip to Mogadishu, leaving many wondering and speculating about the real reason for the trip.

It is worth noting the two president’s met in Jabuuti just weeks ago.
