Hargeisa (SD) – All of the management team at the Hargeisa General Hospital except the Director of the Hospital has been dismissed, due to a long overdue restructuring necessity.
The Hospital has long been under funded by the government causing people to lose confidence in hospital’s ability to service the residents of the capital of Somaliland.
People who lost their jobs include the hospital’s Deputy Director, the Managing Director of Finance of the Hospital, the hospital’s accountant, the Hospital Treasurer and other officials.
The move follows a major public outcry over the hospital services in recent days, including the lack of necessary and basic equipment such as beds, PPE and respiratory apparatus.
There was no official announcement for the dismissals nor has there been any news on appointing new officials to those posts.
