Hargeisa (SD) – The mayor of the Somaliland capital Hargeisa, Abdikarin Ahmed Mooge, has made a promise to Somali artists in general and Somalilanders in particular.

Mayor Mooge said he would build a theater for artists to showcase their talents as well as their own homes.

“Since God has made me the mayor of Hargeisa, the home of Somali art, I have promised to build theater. I will make it possible to build houses for both Somaliland and Somali artists.” Said Mooge.

Mr. Mooge made the announcement at a launch of a book written about poet Qawdhan.

The mayor of the Somaliland capital is the son of one of the most famous Somali singers, the late great Mohamed Mooge Liban.
