Mogadishu (SD) – Somalia’s Regional states and Benadir football tournament scheduled to start on the 20th of this month at Eng. Yarisow football stadium has Hirshabelle’s players refusing to attend.

Statement from Hirshabelle Sports Administration confirmed the decision to withdraw from the competition, due to not having accommodations for their players and the accompanying delegation.

A statement from the Hirshabelle sports administration informed the president of the administration and the ministry of sports of the Somali government that Hirshabelle experienced injustice and discrimination against their players.

The Somali government’s Ministry of Sports and the Somali Football Federation have not yet commented on Hirshabelle’s complaint, and it is not clear if Hirshabelle will miss out on the tournament or if their grievances would be solved.

Its worth noting that Hirshabelle state administration is going through a internal divisions stemming from a presidential elections few weeks ago.
