ICG Warns of a Potential Conflict in Somalia if Elections are Postponed

Mogadishu (SD) – The International Crisis Group (ICG) has released a report today warning the Somali federal government in postponing elections in the country without consensus.

The ICG calls on the federal government not to add political tension to the emergency health situation in Somalia, as the country struggles with the spread of COVID-19.

If elections are postponed without consensus, it will certainly be opposed, moreover, it is possible violence could erupt, the ICG warned.
