MOGADISHU (SD) -The Ministers of Finance, Agriculture, Planning, and Livestock of the Federal Government of Somalia, along with other officials, held an important meeting with the Representative of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for Somalia.
During the meeting, the Somali Ministers and the IFAD’s Somalia Representative finalized an agreement aimed at promoting agricultural development in Somalia, according to state media.
The agreement, which involves financial support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), was the focal point of the meeting and was ultimately signed.
Following the meeting, the Minister of Finance of the Somali Government, Biixi Imaan Cige, signed the agreement for the agricultural development project in Somalia.
This project will support the development of agriculture in the country and, if officially funded, will significantly contribute to the government’s budget.
The agreement for agricultural development in Somalia is of paramount importance at this time, as it seeks to address the challenges facing the agricultural sector, including those related to climate change, which has adversely affected the country on multiple occasions.
