Ikraan Tahliil’s family criticizes military court prosecutor’s report

Mogadishu (SD) – The family of Ikraan Tahliil, a NISA officer who has been missing since June 26, 2021, has once again strongly opposed a preliminary investigation report by the Prosecutors looking into their daughter’s case.

The family has accused the prime minister of lying about his promise to investigate Ikraan’s case last year, but instead handed Ikraan’s case to NISA suspects, they said.

“As the family of citizen Ikraan Tahliil Farah, we are responding to a far-fetched statement from the Prosecution of the Court Martial (CQS) on November 21, 2021, titled; Preliminary investigation into Ikraan Tahliil Farah case ” said a statement from the Ikraan family.

They said the prosecutor’s report on state media did not follow the normal criminal investigation process.

The family insisted that the prosecutor could not acquit anyone, and has no power to close a case before the courts.

They added that the prosecutor had announced a preliminary investigation after he was threatened by Yassin Farey, clearing him on his involvement in Ikraan’s case, allowing him to run for a seat in Parliament.

It is noteworthy that in the case of Ikraan Tahliil, is linked to individuals close to President Farmajo, such as Fahad Yassin, Kulane Jiis, Abdiqani Dhiirabe and Yasin Farey.
