Garowe (SD) – Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni, in a televised speech last night, called for unity, security and the development of Puntland and Somalia in general.
The President expressed his condolences to the victims of the recent violence in Bossaso and called on all Puntland forces not to reignite violence again.
He also called on the people of Puntland to remain calm and allow the government to secure the peace.
For those affected by the violence in Bossaso, the President expressed his concern and regret that the former PSF Director had fired mortar shells at neighborhoods in the city, which would need to be properly investigated in the future.
The President instructed the Ministers and other officials involved in the relief work to assist the displaced people in providing immediate assistance and facilitating the return of people to their homes.
The President of Puntland finally shared with the public that the Government stands for the rule of law, and the agreed upon constitutional authority, and that Puntland is ready and willing to welcome the peace efforts initiated by the Puntland traditional leaders and Intellectuals.
