India donates two million dollars to ATMIS mission in Somalia

NY April 08, 2023 (SD) – The Indian government has pledged 2 million dollars to the United Nations fund to support the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).

Previously, the Indian government provided 4 million dollars to support ATMIS in Somalia.

The Indian government stated that it is committed to promoting peace and stability in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.

The Indian peacekeeping mission in the United Nations has released a statement saying that India supports the efforts to combat the terrorist attacks carried out by Al-Shabaab by providing logistical support and ensuring the safety of the troops.

Ruchira Kamboj, India’s ambassador to the United Nations, tweeted that the Indian government has contributed $2 million to the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
