Hargeisa December 22, 2022 (SD) – Journalist Abdimalik Muse Coldoon was released today from the central prison in Hargeisa, after two years of what some have called illegal imprisonment.

The reporter was accused of criticizing the President of Somaliland and Abaarso and Barwaaqo private schools but was initialy acquitted of any crime by the Marodijex Regional Court on February 3, 2022.

However, in a bizarre turn of events in what some are calling judicial malpractice, the journalist was sentenced to two years by the Court of Appeal in Hargeisa on May 23, 2022.

Journalist Abdimalik Muse Coldon who spoke to the media in front of the prison said that he was arrested unjustly.

The Journalist has been arrested on similar charges, on April 19, 2019, but was later released on June 6, 2020, with a Presidential pardon.
