Journalists injured in blast brought to Mogadishu for treatment

MOGADISHU (SD) – Four people, two of them civilians, were killed and three others, including two journalists, were injured when a landmine hit their vehicle near Mataban district in Hiran region.

The dead reportedly included two government soldiers, a driver and a mechanic.

The injured journalists Khalid Muhumed Osman (Ikacase) and Abdikarim Mohamed Siyad work for HirShabelle administration TV.

The injured journalists were embedded with the Hiran regional administration and government forces during recent operations.

The wounded, including the journalists were brought to Mogadishu today for medical treatment.

The federal government and Hiran regional administration forces have been conducting operations in Mataban district in recent weeks, where Al Shabaab militants have been stationed for months.
