KISMAYU (SD)-The Ministry of Interior of the Jubaland State Government has issued a press release addressing the ongoing issues between Jubaland and the Federal Government of Somalia, officially announcing that it has suspended its cooperative relations with the Federal Government.
“The Jubaland Government confirms that it has suspended its working relationship with the Federal Government of Somalia until it complies with the country’s Constitution and respects the will of the people of Jubaland,” stated the press release.
According to the press release from the Ministry of Interior of Jubaland, it accuses the Federal Government of causing security instability and obstructing the general elections that the Jubaland State Government wants to hold.
This exacerbates the already strained relationship between the Federal Government and Jubaland, which has intensified since Ahmed Madobe openly walked out of the National Consultative Council meeting months ago.
