Kenyan Police preempted an attack by AS

GARRISA (SD)-Further details have emerged about a planned operation carried out today by the Kenyan security forces in the vicinity of Garissa town in northeastern Kenya.

Kenyan police forces launched a heavy attack on Al-Shabaab members who had planned to attack the Alango area, located along the Garissa-Dadaab road in Garissa County.

Security officials in Kenya reported that they received information about the militants and preempted the attack as the militants were preparing for it.

Officials also stated that they killed two of the Al-Shabaab members on the spot, while the others escaped, albeit injured.

The forces also seized two AK47 rifles, seven magazines, explosive materials, and other various equipment.

The situation is now calm, but security forces in Kenya continue to conduct extensive search operations around Garissa town, searching for the Al-Shabaab members who escaped from the scene.
