Baidoa December 25, 2022 (SD) – The president of the South West region, Abdiasis Hassan Mohamed (Laftagareen), last night removed two of his cabinet ministers and replaced them with new ones.

The president made the reshuffle after a key minister resigned yesterday and others challenged the president’s handling of the recent deadly clashes in Baidoa.

President Laftagreen’s reshuffling comes at a time when there are crises related to the president’s term extension, strongly opposed by regional politicians.

It is believed that Somali leaders seeking illegal term extensions contribute to the ongoing political turmoil in the east African nation.
