Land mine explosion targets Baraawe business district

MOGADISHU (SD) Tuesday, September, 6, 2022 (SD) – Two people died and and seven others were injured in a Land mine explosion today in Baraawe, Lower-Shabelle Region.

The explosion happened in a transit station at the center of Baraawe town, where most of the victims were civilians.

The explosion happened in the busiest, biggest business centers in Baraawe where many businesses properties close to the explosion site were damaged.

Al-Shabaab has been accused of being behind the explosion, as they had previously conducted similar explosions in Afgooye where 13 people died.

The explosion in Baraawe came at a time when Somalia’s National Army was in full fledge war with Al-Shabaab and conducting multiple operations in Hiiraan, Region and in Middle-Shabelle.
