Las Anod July 08, 2023 (SD) – Today, Mortars targeted in a section of Las Anod city in Sool region, resulting in casualties and significant damage, according to reports coming from local media.

One of the affected areas was a crowded market where many people were present.

Additionally, the main hospital in the city’s healthcare district has been reported to have received casualties following the shelling.

Today’s shelling in Las Anod has rekindled tensions, despite failed efforts for reconciliation. The recent escalation involved clashes between the Somaliland forces and local SSC forces.

Several eyewitnesses have reported civilian casualties and significant displacement due to the renewed shelling in Las Anod today.
