Mogadishu July 08, 2023 (SD) – Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre has made a comprehensive reshuffle of his cabinet today, which also included the appointment of a new Minister of Finance for the government.

Prime Minister Hamse named Bihi Iman Egeh as the Minister of Finance of the Somali government, replacing Dr. Cilmi Mohamed Nur, who was relieved of his duties.

Additionally, Sadaam Mohamed Nur Aliow was appointed as the Minister of Interior and Federal Affairs. He succeeded Ilyas Ali Hassan, who recently became a senator in the upper house.

Abukar Jelani Sheikh was also appointed as the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments.

This recent reshuffle comes as the government is undertaking various measures to address the ongoing corruption challenges, including political instability, which have raised concerns among various government officials.
