MOGADISHU (SD) – At least three people, including the village chief were killed in an explosion in Garasbaley on the outskirts of Mogadishu on Friday.
The improvised explosive device (IED) suspected to have been buried on the road in the village of Garasbaale hit a car carrying Abdirahman Ahmed Ali, Garasbaley’s chief, claiming the lives of Ali and two other civilians.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
This would be the second blast targeting Garasbaley officials since the beginning of this year.
Last January, Ali Mohamed Moalim, Deputy Commissioner for Security and Policy in Garasbaale; Abdirashid Dubad, a youth activist and their driver, were killed in an explosion caused by an IED buried on a road in the village.
