MOGADISHU (SD) -More details are coming out of a mortar fire that hit parts of Mogadishu this morning.

An elderly woman, identified as a resident of the area, was confirmed dead, and the blast caused substantial destruction to nearby structures.

Local people who spoke to the media said that the mortar hit them while they were sleeping, adding there was a lot of panic and fear among residents.

The security forces in Banadir Region, particularly in Boondheere, have not yet provided official information on the incident. T
