GAROWE (SD) -The Puntland opposition Presidential candidates have decided to limit the Regional Parliament to 49 MPs after a special meeting in the city of Garowe.

In a press release, the Puntland presidential candidates also said that they have lost confidence in the Dispute Resolution Committee and the approval of the new Puntland Parliament.

The opposition candidates have agreed that the Puntland presidential election should take place on time on 8 Jan 2024 with 49 MPs and without SSC-Khatumo representatives according to their press release.

The 15-member Opposition Candidates Council also warned President Deni and the Committee for Resolution of Conflicts and Approval of the Parliament to continue with the election without an agreement.
