Somali President’s son faces six year prison sentence over fatal crash

ISTANBUL (SD)-Turkish prosecutors have prepared a case against the son of Somalia’s president, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, demanding up to six years in prison, after a car accident involving the death of a Turkish citizen.

The case, prepared by the Istanbul Public Prosecutor’s Office, demands a prison sentence between two and six years for Mohamed Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, accused of “causing death through negligence.”

A recent report issued by a group of experts who looked at the footage of the accident said that the president’s son was at fault because he did not brake the car when it was important to do so.

A previous police report blamed Yunus for the accident, which is why the police released Mohamed.
The prosecutor accuses Mohamed of causing the murder of 38-year-old Yunus Emre Göçer.
