Baidoa March 18, 2023 (SD) – A two-day-long National Consultative Council meeting attended by the heads of the federal and regional governments and the Banadir region was concluded today in Baidoa the capital of South West state.
According to a released statement, the leaders agreed on the federalization of the country’s finances, democracy, and elections, the completion of the national security framework agreement, and other issues.
The National Consultative Council discussed election issues, especially the one person one vote, and the Council agreed to propose solutions to this issue at the next meeting which will take place in May 2023.
The National Consultative Council assigned the Presidents of South West, Galmudug, and Hirshabelle to hold talks with Puntland state over the agreed-upon provisions.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia and the presidents of the regional governments, South-West, Hirshabelle, Jubbaland, Galmudug, and the Governor of Banadir Region.
