MOGADISHU (SD) -The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, chaired the National Consultative Council meeting between the Federal Government and the Federal Member States, which commenced today at the National Presidential Palace.
The leaders from both the Federal and State levels are discussing the country’s security situation, particularly the acceleration of the fight against the terrorist group Al-Shabaab, from which the national army has reportedly achieved significant victories, liberating many areas that had previously been controlled by the group, and the completion of the country’s constitution.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, the Deputy Prime Minister, and the Presidents of the Federal Member States: Jubaland, South West, Galmudug, Hirshabelle, and the Governor of Banadir region and Mayor of Mogadishu.
