Mogadishu (SD) – Somali national media recently reported that Ikran Tahliil Farah, a member of NISA, not known her whereabouts for some time, have been killed by Al Shabaab.
“Ikran Tahliil Farah, a member of the National Intelligence and Security Agency, has been missing since 26/6/2021. Following a lengthy investigation by the HSNQ, a report emerged that she had been captured by al-Shabaab terrorists and killed her.” Said the government statement.
The statement, published on the national television’s website, did not specify where or when she was killed.
“The National Intelligence and Security Agency has handed over the details of the Ikran case to the relevant authorities. The National Intelligence Agency also shared this information with her family.” Said the government statement.
NISA said it is pursuing the perpetrators and will bring them to justice.
The announcement by the federal government comes after VOA Somali Service aired a special program on Ikran Tahliil today.
Politician Abdirahman Abdishakur and lawmaker Mahad Salaad responded to reports tonight by the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) that Ikran Tahliil Farah had been captured by al-Shabaab and killed.
“The Al-Shabaab Fahad Yassin is alleging they killed Ikran Tahliil is him. He killed and buried Ikran Tahliil. I advise the relatives of Ikraan to open a case against Fahad. I advise PM Mohamed Hussein Roble to remove the culprit and not allowed to leave the country and should be charged” said MP Mahad Salaad.
Presidential candidate Abdirahman Abdishakur added to the concern “This is a testament to the cooperation between the National Security Agency and Al-Shabaab. It is also a serious warning that no one is safe tonight from Al-Shabaab kidnaping or get picked up at government buildings. Surprisingly, NISA was not aware of Ikraan’s abduction, but is aware of her killing.
Ikran Tahliil Farah, a member of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (HSNQ), had not been heard from since June 26, 2021, when he was picked up from her home in Mogadishu at night.
