Mogadishu June 17, 2023 (SD) -The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamsa Abdi Barre, today opened the training for the 3,000 new teachers that the government of Somalia recently hired, who will start work in September this year.
The training is taking place at the General Kaahiye Police Training School, the Prime Minister announced that the teachers would be deployed to provide quality education to students, as well as to contribute to the development of the Somali youth in terms of education and the nurturing of Somali children.
PM Hamsa stated that education is of vital importance to the progress of the country, particularly in the areas of security and economy. He encouraged the teachers to educate Somali students who are practicing Muslims, dedicated, knowledgeable, experienced, and can compete globally.
The DanQaran Government announced that in the past year, it has successfully employed 23 thousand Somali youth, as military personnel and civilian workers.
“The recruitment of 3,000 teachers is an important achievement. The DanQaran Government, during its tenure, has successfully employed 23 thousand Somali workers, including 20 thousand military personnel who will be integrated into the country’s security forces by the end of 2024, and 3 thousand teachers.”
Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre also pledged to establish educational facilities accessible to the public, and commended the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Higher Education for their efforts in prioritizing and improving the country’s education system, emphasizing the importance of their significant contributions.
