Hargeisa (SD) – One person died and two injured after police in the Hawd region, in Somaliland, opened fire on a truck known as ‘Fitis’ suspected of carrying Kat, a banned drug in the country.

The Truck, at the time of the shooting was traveling through Badhiiqa area, about 10 Km east of Baligubadle.

An emergency vehicle carrying the dead and injured reportedly run over a civilian adding to the tragedy.

The Baligubadle Regional authorities didn’t address the incident, and it’s not yet known the full details of the incident.

The shooting follows a series of contraband Kat flowing through the region since the Kat ban was implemented last Sunday.
