HARGEISA (SD) -The President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, responded to the criticism and threats from the Somalia and China governments over the developing relations between Somaliland and Taiwan.
The President accused the Somali Government of threatening to wage war on Somaliland whenever there is an opportunity for Somaliland to step forward.
“When Somaliland makes a knowledgeable progress, the individuals in Somalia fight back our work and progress,” said President Bihi.
The President also confirmed that the Somalia Government has threatened to wage war in Somaliland over their ties with Taiwan.
“Yesterday, there were three consecutive interviews broadcasted by officials from the Somalia government. The Somalia Ambassador to Washington has expressed in the interview that Somalia will initiate war against Somaliland like the current case of Ukraine,” reported President Bihi.
Additionally, the President commented on the alliance of China and Somalia questing to block the Somaliland and Taiwan relationships.
“Delegations from China paid us a visit recently, and we have told them that no one can force us to do anything we aren’t interested in and doesn’t benefit us as a country,” stated President Muse Bihi.
The relationship of the two unrecognized governments of Somaliland and Taiwan began to flourish in 2020. The governments of China and Somalia were infuriated by the forming of this relation, and they have joined initiatives to undermine it.
