MOGADSHU (SD)- Somalia’s outgoing President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, along with a delegation from the federal government has recently travelled to Doha, Qatar.
The delegation is to meet with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, to hold discussions on strengthening the long-standing ties, and advancing cooperation based on mutual national interests.
President Farmajo had previously made several trips to Doha, because the Government of Qatar is considered one of the countries with close powerful ties with the ruling party led by President Farmajo.
Qatar is alleged to have provided financial support to Farmajo in his surprise victory in the 2017 presidential election against Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
