Burao (SD) – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE Muse Bihi Abdi, accompanied by members of the Council of Ministers, parliamentarians, politicians and other members of the public, today attended the graduation ceremony of 499 Burao University graduates this year.
Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi in a speech to the graduates talked about the rape and murder of Ugbad Ali Abdullahi, a mother of three.
Muse Bihi Abdi first expressed his condolences to the people of Burao, the relatives of Ugbad Ali Abdullahi and the students of the University for the rape and murder, and said that he was very sorry, as she was one of the students who would be graduating today.
“My condolences to the people of Somaliland, especially the students graduating from Burao University today, especially the women, for the brutal murder of Ugbad Ali who was today one of the graduating students of the university,” said Muse Bihi.
Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi has instructed the Somaliland judiciary to expedite the process of holding perpetrators accountable as soon as possible, promising to follow through the court ruling.
Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi has begun a tour of eastern Somaliland yesterday, and is expected to reach Sool and Sanaag regions.
