HARGEISA (SD) – The president of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, today received the EU ambassador to Somalia Tina Intelmann at the presidential palace.

The meeting discussed important issues including the elections, the strengthening of cooperation between the Somaliland administration and the European Union and issues in the Horn of Africa.

The president of Somaliland reportedly requested the meeting with the ambassador of the European Union following the escalation of the presidential election dispute, according to news sources.

Sources declined to disclose Muse Bihi discussion points with Somalia’s EU ambassador.

This meeting comes at a time when the opposition parties of Somaliland and the Kulmiye Party have failed, and the opposition parties have called for demonstrations against President Muse Bihi.
