Hargeisa (SD) – The President of Somaliland, Muse Bihi Abdi, today received a large delegation from China who have been in Hargeisa for the last few days at the Presidential Palace.

The delegation received by Muse Bihi was led by the Chinese Special Representative for Africa-China Cooperation (FOCAC), Ambassador Zhou Yuxiao.

The delegation also included Somalia’s ambassador to China, Qin Jian who was unable to meet with President Bihi in recent days.

President Bihi and members of the delegation focused on trade issues as well as ways for China to invest more in Somaliland.

The delegation and the president also reportedly discussed Taiwan’s relationship with Somaliland, although it was not formally mentioned by either party.

Finally, it was agreed that the two countries should have a good relationship based on mutual respect and cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, and development.
