Hargeisa (SD) – Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi, today visited a military training camp in Darar-weyne district, where the country’s armed forces displayed military might.
The Commander of the Somaliland Police Force, Lieutenant General Mohamed Adan Saqadi (Dabagle), gave a brief presentation and underscored his commitment to develop and build the force, as a major national security pillar.
Somaliland President Muse Bihi Abdi, who spoke at the training camp addresses multiple issues, first congratulated the country’s various armed forces, the national service students in the Armed Forces as well as the various officers training there.
“I came here today, because of COVID-19, we could not hold a military parade, as our troops remained at their bases, we preferred to visit where the national service students or regular soldiers are training, were they were training for this years parede and as they are the army’s future.” Said the president.
The President said that the armed forces training also includes exploring and ensuring better days in the future, while never forgetting what happened in the past.
Somaliland government recently cancelled the country’s annual independent day celebrations on May 18, due to COVID-19.
