President Deni vows to unite Somalis at his inauguration ceremony

MOGADISHU (SD) – The official inauguration ceremony of the new Puntland State Government’s President was held at the Presidential Palace in Garowe today.

The ceremony was attended by the President of Puntland, Said Abdullahi Deni, the Vice President of Puntland, Ilyas Osman Lugator, and a delegation led by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, including members of the Somali Federal Government Cabinet.

The event also featured the participation of regional leaders, including those from South West, Galmudug, and Hirshabelle, as well as the leader of SSC Khaatumo.

It was attended by a high-level international delegation led by the United Nations Special Representative for Somalia, Ms. Catriona Laing, representatives from Djibouti and Kenya governments, former Prime Ministers of the Somali Federal Government, a delegation from the Somali region of Ethiopia, members of the Puntland 2024-2029 Presidential Candidates, former Presidents of Puntland, cultural figures, politicians, youth organizations, and women’s groups.

President Said Abdullahi Deni expressed gratitude to the extensive delegation that participated in the inauguration ceremony, calling on Somali leaders to work together harmoniously to address the various challenges facing the nation’s development.
