Dhusamareb (SD) – Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, attended the closing ceremony of the Dhusamareb-3 conference at the capital of Galmudug, addressing Jubaland and Puntland administration’s boycott.
Farmajo said the administrations that were absent from the conference were integral, and that the result of the conference would e implemented.
“Our brothers in Puntland and Jubaland have something to do with this forum. You are good people. You are dear to us. We are sorry that you did not come, and you are not present,” he said.
The president also said he hopes more meetings will be held with the Jubaland and Puntland administrations.
“I believe that you will come back to us with your ideas. We need you. We need your strength in all aspects, you’re wise and thoughtful, we ask you, the Somali people ask yu to unite with us,” he said.
Speaking at the conclusion of the Dhusamareb 3 conference, President Farmajo said that he and the leaders of the regional administrations agreed to move away from the old clan-based electoral system.
The leaders of the federal and regional administrations who attended the Dhusamareb conference agreed on the transition to a multi-party system in the upcoming elections.
