Mogadishu (SD) – Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has appointed Abdi Ali Rage, the owner of Soyal Radio in Kismayo, as his election adviser, Rage also an influential politician in the Jubaland administration, and a former adviser to President Ahmed Mohamed Islam.
The advisor’s appointment comes at a time when the country is debating whether a one person one vote is possible or not.
As per local reports, Abdi Ali Rage previously worked on Somalia’s elections in late 2016.
Its not clear if the president’s newly appointed advisor would be able to deliver the daunting political ask of the president, as he is set on finding ways to extend his term.
