TURKIYE (SD)-The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who participated in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey, spoke about the promising future of Somalia and the importance of the stability of important passages, including the Red Sea.
The President highlighted the Federal Government of Somalia’s vision for peace and cooperation, mutual respect, and partnership, stating that resolving maritime disputes in the Indian Ocean is essential for global peace and trade. Therefore, the Somali government is committed to fostering cooperation and resolving regional conflicts.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud also noted that Ethiopia’s interference poses a threat to Somalia’s sovereignty and stability, condemning Ethiopia’s efforts to undermine the international efforts to stabilize the important corridors, including the Red Sea. He criticized all aspects of Ethiopia’s claims, aiming to annex Somalia’s maritime territory.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud addressed the challenges facing Somalia’s governance and the concerns of the Somali people, saying that the liberation of the areas under the control of Al-Shabaab goes hand in hand with plans to strengthen the government and strengthen cooperation and the role of Somalia in the region, These efforts include joining the East African Community, combating piracy, and enhancing debt relief initiatives.
