MOGADISHU (SD)-The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, arrived in the city of Kismayo, the capital of Jubaland administration, today.
The President and his delegation were warmly welcomed at Kismayo Airport by the President of Jubaland State, Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Madobe), deputy presidents, members of the Jubaland Government, and a large number of residents.
The purpose of the President’s visit as stated by Villa Somalia was to focus on enhancing cooperation between the federal government and the regional administration of Jubaland, advancing the federal system, and improving the living conditions of the people of Jubaland.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, during his stay in Kismayo, will hold meetings with the leadership of the Jubaland regional government and various segments of society.
The president will listen to these parties for their suggestions on state building, protecting the unity and independence of the country, and the development of the country.
President Hassan Sheikh’s visit to Kismayo comes at a time when the military operations against the Al-Shabaab had stalled.
Additionally, he will address issues related to reconciliation, constitutional amendments, and the resolution of disputes, including those between the Puntland administration and former national leaders who are currently at odds with parliamentary decisions.
