President Irro meets with Traditional leaders in Borama

BORAMA (SD) – The President of Somaliland, who is on a working visit to Borama, held a dinner and consultation meeting last night with the cultural leaders of the Awdal region. Members of the Council of Ministers, regional officials, and various heads of administrative institutions attended the meeting.

The focus of the meeting was on how to collaborate and support the extensive efforts of the government in the Awdal region and Somaliland as a whole. These efforts are part of the commitments made by the President during his election campaign.

Prominent cultural leaders from the Awdal region, who spoke at the event, welcomed the President’s sincerity and determination to fulfill all the promises he made to the Awdal region during his term, particularly in developing economic infrastructure. They clearly stated that they would fully support the efforts of the President and his government.

Ministers from the Ministries of Interior, Presidency, Foreign Affairs, Water, and Sports, who also spoke at the event, elaborated on the President’s and his government’s efforts to bring about tangible development and historic achievements to the Awdal region, especially in economic infrastructure such as roads and airports, which are vital for the community’s livelihood.

President Abdirahman Irro of Somaliland, who concluded the event, thanked the cultural leaders for their support in the government’s development initiatives in the region and for maintaining peace and social cohesion.

The President assured the people of Awdal that he is fulfilling all his previous commitments. During the event, he announced the allocation of funds for the purchase of an oxygen-generating machine, a promise he had previously made to the Boorama General Hospital.

President Abdirahman Irro emphasized the importance of cultural leaders in promoting unity and cooperation within the community. He stated, “We want to fulfill our promises, and we all need to work together to achieve the unity of the people and join hands in this effort.”
