MOGADISHU-The Prime Minister of Somalia, Mohamed Roble, held a vital meeting with the commanders of the AMISOM forces in Somalia, and discussed ways to further strengthen security measures in Mogadishu.
The Prime Minister requested the AMISOM commanders to concentrate on intensifying operations against Al-Shabaab militants in the country during the elections period.
It is not the first time the Prime Minister summoned the security agencies and AMISOM, following terrorist attacks in the capital city of Mogadishu.
These meetings come at a time when the National Consultation Council has recently set a new deadline for the country’s election to be completed on 15 March 2022.
Al-Shabaab violent activities have intensified during the election season in the country. The meeting with AMISOM was designated to examine the security measures in the country.
