Puntland accuses feds of undermining regional state

GAROWE(SD)-The president of Puntland, Said Abdullahi Deni, held a critical meeting at the presidential palace in Garowe with Puntland representatives in Somalia’s federal parliament.

Attending the meeting were Puntland’s Vice President, Ilyas Osman Lugatoor, and the Speaker of the Puntland Parliament, Abdulrazak Ahmed Said. They discussed the overall state of the nation, with a primary focus on Puntland’s ongoing disputes with the federal government.

Reports indicate that President Deni specifically addressed issues regarding the rift between his administration and the federal government, which has reached a new low, causing a breakdown in relations. He also shared his stance on national issues, particularly the government’s plans for transitioning to a one-person-one-vote election system.

The discussions are expected to continue, with additional Puntland parliamentarians anticipated to join future sessions in Garowe.
