Bossaso (SD) – Fighting broke out between Puntland forces and Al-Shabaab militants in Toga Gaca area and other areas south of Bossaso, the capital of Bari region.

The Darwish and PSF forces fought this morning in the mountains surrounding Bossaso with militias believed to be the ones who attacked the main jail in Bossaso last night, according to Puntland security forces.

Puntland military officials have unveiled the militants captured in the fighting, their weapons and some of the men who led the operation.

On the other Hand, Puntland President Said Deni, arrived in Bossaso and met with Bari regional administration officials and security officials.

A statement from Puntland’s presidency said the president’s visit was to monitor the security situation in Bossaso and to hold further meetings with regional administration and security officials.
