Garowe (SD) – Puntland Minister of Interior Mohamed Abdirahman Dhaban-cad speaking about the security of Mudug region, said the time has passed for Al-Shabaab to take advantage of the people of the region due to Puntland and Galmudug administrations fighting in Galkayo.

“We want the traditional elders, business people of Puntland and Galmudug to support the government and support the various efforts to ensure security in the region,” said the minister in a message to the community.

The minister confirmed that they’ve arrested people who are known for causing insecurity, killings and bombings in Mudug region and will soon present them to the Somali people living in Mudug region.

“We hope that those who are currently being held in custody or who have been identified by witnesses will face the law and those who escaped will be pursued. ” said the minister.

Galmudug and Puntland neighboring areas have been the scene of repeated Al Shabab attacks in recent months.
