Qandala (SD) – The Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF) has seized an illegal fishing vessel off the coast of Qandala in Bari region.

Mohamed Ahmed Arish, a member of the Puntland Coast Guard, said that the information of the fishing vessel was obtained and finally captured safely, while fishing not far from Qandala District in Bari Province.

He said the crew was 10, including the ship’s engineer and eight sailors, adding that they had checked their fishing licenses and found no fishing licenses.

The Puntland Coast Guard similarly arrested 10 boats and their crews in early March this year, who were Yemeni and were fishing illegally off the eastern coast of Puntland.
