Puntland Government Discloses Confidential Documents Seized from ISIS Bases

BOSSASO (SD) – The Puntland government has, for the first time, provided details about confidential documents recovered from bases captured by ISIS terrorist groups.

In a joint press briefing, Puntland Police Force Commander, Major General Muumin Cabdi Shire, and Puntland Maritime Police Force (PMPF) Operations Commander, Major General Cabdiraxmaan Maxamed Jaamac, discussed the information contained in the classified documents seized from ISIS-controlled bases.

Major General Muumin Cabdi Shire detailed the contents of the documents, revealing lists of all funds collected by ISIS, companies that transferred money to them, and the accounts used to deposit these extorted funds.

“We have obtained documents proving the lists of all funds collected, the companies that transferred money, and the accounts where the extorted funds were deposited,” said General Muumin Cabdi Shire, as he explained the classified materials found in the ISIS bases.

He further stated that the documents revealed evidence of ISIS counterfeiting money and mining resources from the Cal Miskaad mountains. Additionally, they documented abuses committed against women and the illegal hunting of wildlife.

Major General Cabdiraxmaan Maxamed Jaamac, the PMPF Operations Commander, added that the documents included passports and bank cards belonging to foreign Arab nationals involved in the insurgency. He also noted that maps detailing Somalia’s districts and the distances between them were among the items seized.
