Somali Prime Minister Declares Investigation into Secession Issue.

MOGADISHU (SD) – Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, has announced that the government has investigated the root causes of the secession crisis affecting the country.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony for postgraduate students at Mogadishu University, the Prime Minister emphasized that secession poses a serious threat to Somalia’s unity and sovereignty. He stated that the government is consulting intellectuals and scholars to find a lasting solution to this issue.

Prime Minister Hamza also highlighted his administration’s commitment to improving Somalia’s education sector, ensuring that Somali youth receive high-quality education and acquire the necessary skills to contribute to the country’s reconstruction and development.

“The government has investigated and identified the major threats to Somalia’s unity and stability. Among these are terrorism, which endangers security, lives, and property,” said Prime Minister Hamza.

He added:
“Another serious issue is the ideology of secession, which threatens national unity and weakens state institutions. We have decided that the solution must come from educated individuals like you, who can help find a way forward.”

The Prime Minister congratulated the graduates on their academic achievements and encouraged them to use their knowledge for the benefit of their country and society. He urged them to be innovative and play an active role in Somalia’s progress.
