Puntland political tensions rise

GAROWE (SD) -The city of Garowe, the capital of Puntland, is reportedly experiencing rising tensions involving armed forces loyal to President Deni and other security forces associated with opposition politicians.

Community leaders in Garowe, who spoke to the media today, have condemned the escalating tensions in Garowe and criticized the hostilities among security forces.

Some of the community leaders who spoke to the media strongly criticized the politicians involved in the conflict, stating that they were not concerned about the well-being of the community and were instead contributing to the chaos.
The Chairman of Puntland Civil Society Organizations, Abdurahman Abdirisak, stated that they are deeply concerned about the tensions in Garowe. He mentioned that the situation is reminiscent of previous deadly incidents in Bosaso and Garowe, emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution.

The civil society of Puntland has called on political leaders in Garowe to prioritize the well-being of the community, urging them to resolve their differences through dialogue.
