Bossaso (SD) – Puntland forces on Sunday seized the headquarters of the Puntland Ministry of Fisheries in Bossaso, the capital of Bari region.

The forces complaining of lack of compensation, surrounded the ministry compound and refused to let anyone in or out, according to some Ministry of Fisheries staff.

A soldier, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told local media that they were protesting after losing their promised bonuses, during an anti-piracy operation off the coast of Puntland.

The Ministry of Fisheries is working to resolve the armies pay issues.
The Puntland Ministry of Fisheries is the second largest revenue collector and one of the most scrupulous ministries.

The capture of the Puntland Ministry of Defense came at a time when the President of Puntland was receiving a special reception to his return in Garowe.
