Garowe (SD) – The 3rd Session of the Standing Committee of the Puntland State House of Representatives chaired by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril and accompanied by the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdiaziz Abdullahi Osman and 2nd Deputy Speaker Ismail Mohamed Warsame held a meeting in the hall of the standing committee at the House of Representatives today.

At today’s meeting, the chairpersons heard reports on social issues, security, the economy, the completion of local councils and judicial matters.

After much discussion and deliberation, the Standing Committee decided to set up a special committee to finalize the Puntland Water Law, and the committee also decided to summon the Minister of Livestock, they also decided to summon the Chief of Police and the Commander of the Puntland Criminal Investigation Department (CID), to inquire into allegations of extortion charges.

Finally, the Standing Committee was given three new proposed bills, the Puntland Drug Enforcement Law, the Puntland Tourism Law and the Puntland Chamber of Commerce and Industry Amendment Act.
