BOSSASO (SD) – Puntland security forces have reportedly reached Milho area in Sanaag region where Al-Shabaab militants attacked villagers.

Local reports add that the troops, armed with armored vehicles, entered Milho area and set up military bases.

The situation in Milho is now calm and the troops are conducting operations there against Al-Shabaab militants in the outskirts of the town.

Al-Shabaab fighters who attacked the area recently withdrew before the troops arrived, according to Puntland defense officials.

Al Shabaab is reportedly gaining some ground back in eastern Puntland after taking over from ISIS.
